Yesterday I was asked the question “what is the most difficult part of choosing this parenting style?” and I had never asked myself that question before. I am sharing with you what I realised when I did stop and think about it for a moment.
For me, the hardest part is knowing when to stop. Is understanding when I am doing something that is best for them, even if it is uncomfortable; and when I am using my kids to fight an important fight for the world, but not necessarily theirs. Which is unfair.
Here is the example and my learnings:
I hate that little girls wear full swimsuits, even more that they wear bikinis. It is also alien to me because I grew up in Spain where little girls only wore bathing suit pants (I don’t interact with a lot of spanish kids in the summer so I don’t know what is the current situation, but I want to imagine is still the same).
